Ingredients

  • 1 pound green beans Fresh, ends trimmed, and cut in half
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil For sautéing
  • 1 clove garlic Minced
  • Salt and black pepper To taste
  • 3 tablespoons warm water For steaming

Instructions

  • Start by trimming the ends of the green beans. If you prefer smaller pieces, cut them in half. Rinse them under cold water and set aside.
  • Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and allow it to warm up for about 1 minute.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly until fragrant.
  • Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the garlic-infused oil.
  • Pour in the warm water and immediately cover the skillet with a lid. Let them cook for about 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes, remove the lid and stir the beans. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If you prefer your beans more tender, cover and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
