Ingredients

For the Doughnuts:

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits (either small or large, 8-10 count)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Glaze:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 sheet graham cracker (mooshed to make crumbs)
  • 1 banana (sliced thin)
  • cup Caramel ice cream topping (about 1/4-1/2 cup)
  • Chopped pecans

Instructions

Method:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Oil - In a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Make sure there's enough oil to fully submerge the doughnuts.
  • Step 2: Shape the Doughnuts - Open the can of refrigerated biscuits and carefully separate each biscuit. If you’re using large biscuits, you may want to cut them in half to create smaller doughnuts. Use your fingers to gently poke a hole in the center of each biscuit to form a classic doughnut shape.
  • Step 3: Fry the Doughnuts - Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the shaped biscuits into the oil, a few at a time. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the doughnuts and place them on a cooling rack lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  • Step 4: Make the Glaze - In a mixing bowl, combine the room temperature cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and creamy. You can use a hand mixer or a whisk for this step.
  • Step 5: Assemble the Doughnuts - Once the doughnuts have cooled slightly, dip the tops of each doughnut into the cream cheese glaze. Allow any excess glaze to drip off, then place the glazed doughnuts on a serving plate.
  • Step 6: Add the Toppings - While the glaze is still wet, sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs over the top. Follow with thin slices of banana and drizzle caramel ice cream topping over each doughnut. Finally, finish with a generous sprinkle of chopped pecans.
