Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon turkey bacon bits optional
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Make the Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy with no lumps.

Prepare the Dough

  • Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface, pressing the perforations together to form one large rectangle.
  • Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. If using, sprinkle turkey bacon bits over the filling.
  • Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 8 equal rolls. Place them cut side up on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  • Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg to give a shiny, golden finish once baked.

Bake & Glaze

  • Bake the rolls for 18-22 minutes or until puffed up and golden brown on top.
  • While the rolls bake, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth to make the glaze.
  • Once the rolls have cooled slightly on a rack, drizzle the glaze over the top. Serve warm and enjoy.

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk or Electric Mixer
  • Pastry brush
  • Sharp knife
  • Cooling Rack

Notes

  • Use fully softened cream cheese to ensure a smooth, lump-free filling.
  • Optional turkey bacon bits add a savory crunch but can be omitted for a purely sweet roll.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Freeze rolls tightly wrapped for up to two months; thaw overnight before reheating.
  • Try seasonal variations by adding spices, nuts, or fresh fruit to the filling for different flavor twists.
