  • 1 cup sugar Provides sweetness and helps achieve that lovely, crisp exterior.
  • 2 tablespoons water Adds moisture to the dough, ensuring the cookies are not too dry.
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract Infuses the cookies with a beautiful, nutty flavor that complements the butter.
  • 2 cups flour The base of the cookie, providing structure and texture.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the water and almond extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Gradually add the flour, mixing on low speed or gently folding it in until a soft dough forms.
  • Portion the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each ball.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
