Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). A hot oven is key to achieving that lovely rise in your biscuits.
  • In your 9x13 inch baking dish, pour the melted butter. Make sure it covers the bottom evenly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  • Pour the buttermilk into the dry mixture. Use a spatula to gently fold the ingredients together until just combined.
  • Spoon the biscuit dough over the melted butter in the baking dish.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • Once done, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool for a minute or two. Serve warm.
