Ingredients

For the Roll-Ups:

  • 1 box Chicken Rice-A-Roni (6.9-oz)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5-oz)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls (8-oz)
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls (4-oz)

Instructions

Preparation Steps:

  • Begin by cooking the Chicken Rice-A-Roni according to the package instructions. This usually involves sautéing the rice in butter, adding water, and letting it simmer until fluffy. Set aside once done.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, milk, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is creamy.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This will ensure that your roll-ups come out perfectly baked and golden.
  • Unroll the 8-oz and 4-oz cans of crescent rolls on a clean surface. Pinch the seams together to create a larger sheet of dough.
  • Spoon the creamy chicken filling onto the crescent dough, spreading it evenly across the surface. Be careful not to overfill, as this may cause the roll-ups to burst while baking.
  • Starting from one end, gently roll the dough over the filling, creating a log shape. Pinch the edges to seal the roll-ups tightly. Place them seam-side down in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed. The filling should be bubbly and hot.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, and watch as everyone enjoys this comforting dish.
