Ingredients

  • 3 medium ripe avocados mashed
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice plus a little more for taste
  • 2 teaspoons orange juice more to taste
  • 2 teaspoons pineapple juice more to taste
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce more or less to taste
  • Sea salt to taste

Instructions

  • Cut the ripe avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados until you reach your desired level of creaminess – some like it chunky, while others prefer it smooth.
  • Pour in 1 tablespoon of lime juice, 2 teaspoons of orange juice, and 2 teaspoons of pineapple juice. Stir gently to combine. Taste your mixture and adjust the citrus juices according to your preference – a bit more lime for tang or extra orange for sweetness.
  • Fold in the coarsely chopped cilantro. This herb not only adds flavor but also gives a beautiful green color to the guacamole.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of hot sauce to your mixture. Adjust the heat according to your preference, adding more if you like a spicy kick.
  • Sprinkle in sea salt to taste. This is where you can make the flavors pop, so don’t be afraid to taste and adjust!
  • Once your Citrus Guacamole is ready, let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a topping for grilled meats.
