Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes (or 1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Dash Tabasco or favorite hot sauce adds a touch of heat
  • 16.5 oz canned minced clams drained but juice reserved

Instructions

  • Start by placing your cream cheese in a mixing bowl. If you haven’t already, let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften.
  • Add the sour cream, minced garlic, dried parsley flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and a dash of hot sauce to the softened cream cheese. Using an electric mixer or whisk, blend the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
  • Drain the minced clams, reserving the juice for later use. Gently fold the clams into the creamy mixture until evenly distributed.
  • Taste your dip and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You can add more Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce based on your preference for flavor and heat.
  • Transfer the Clam Dip to a serving dish and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes

  • For a creamier dip, consider adding a bit of mayonnaise or Greek yogurt.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
  • Fresh clams can be used as an alternative to canned clams, but will require more preparation.
