Ingredients

For the Chicken Bake:

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 pieces eggs beaten
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

Preparation Steps:

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Step 2: Using a meat mallet or rolling pin, gently pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness, about ½ inch.
  • Step 3: In one mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.
  • Step 4: Dip each chicken breast first into the beaten eggs, then into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to ensure the coating sticks.
  • Step 5: Lightly spray the baking dish with olive oil and place the coated chicken breasts in the dish.
  • Step 6: Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the chicken, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Step 7: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Step 8: Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
