Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter cubed
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup nuts chopped (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/4 cup roasted cocoa nibs optional
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Baking Steps

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for even baking.
  • Step 2: Melt the unsalted butter and unsweetened chocolate in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  • Step 3: Whisk in the sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  • Step 5: Fold the flour mixture into the chocolate mixture, then gently fold in the nuts and optional cocoa nibs.
  • Step 6: Pour the batter into a lined baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Step 7: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting.
