  • 1/2 cup basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese (or more if you like it cheesy!)

Instructions

Step-by-Step Guide

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Rinse the boneless, skinless chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • Sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides of the chicken breasts.
  • In a separate bowl, measure out the basil pesto. Using a cooking brush or a spoon, generously spread the pesto on top of each chicken breast.
  • Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese over the pesto-covered chicken breasts.
  • Place the chicken breasts in an oven-safe baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.
