Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 4 whole ripe bananas
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your banana bread bakes evenly.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Loaf Pan - Grease your loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later on.
  • Step 3: Mash the Bananas - In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Set aside.
  • Step 4: Cream Butter and Sugar - In a separate mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and brown sugar. Use an electric mixer to cream them together until light and fluffy.
  • Step 5: Add Eggs - Add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Step 6: Incorporate the Bananas - Stir in the mashed bananas until well combined with the wet ingredients.
  • Step 7: Mix Dry Ingredients - In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Step 8: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  • Step 9: Pour Into Loaf Pan - Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Step 10: Bake - Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Step 11: Cool and Serve - Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely before slicing.
