Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter divided
  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • pinch red pepper flakes optional
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Allow it to foam slightly but be careful not to let it brown.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being cautious not to burn it.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Once the shrimp are cooked, reduce the heat to low. Stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and a pinch of red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well to coat the shrimp in the flavorful sauce.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Stir until melted and the sauce is glossy. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and flavor.
  • Transfer the garlic shrimp to a serving plate. Enjoy it warm, perhaps with crusty bread or over a bed of pasta or rice.

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Spatula or Wooden Spoon
  • Measuring spoons
  • Serving Plate

Notes

  • To add color and sweetness, toss in halved cherry tomatoes during the last few minutes of cooking.
  • For added nutrition, include fresh spinach just before serving.
  • Use spiralized zucchini for a low-carb option instead of pasta.
