Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 large yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey meat
  • 25 ounces tomato sauce

Instructions

  • Begin by heating the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the chopped yellow onion. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.
  • Next, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
  • Add the ground turkey meat to the skillet. Use your wooden spoon to break it apart as it cooks. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, or until the turkey is browned and cooked through.
  • Once the turkey is fully cooked, pour in the tomato sauce. Stir everything together until well combined.
  • Bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Once the sauce has thickened slightly, it’s ready to be served. Pair it with your choice of pasta or zucchini noodles.
