Ingredients

  • 400 g ground beef
  • 200 g cheese (choose your favorite type)
  • 2 ripe tomatoes (diced)
  • 1/2 head iceberg lettuce (separated into leaves)
  • 80 g jalapenos (sliced, adjust to your spice preference)
  • 100 g ketchup (for a sweet and tangy kick)
  • 30 g fried onions (for crunch)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (for a hint of smokiness)

Instructions

  • Start by heating a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
  • Once the beef is cooked, lower the heat and sprinkle the cheese on top. Cover the skillet with a lid to help the cheese melt. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • While the cheese is melting, dice the tomatoes and slice the jalapenos. Set them aside for assembly.
  • Take a lettuce leaf and spoon a generous amount of the cheesy ground beef mixture into the center. Top with diced tomatoes, jalapenos, and a drizzle of ketchup. Add a sprinkle of fried onions for extra crunch.
  • Wrap the lettuce around the filling and take a big bite! The combination of flavors and textures will have you coming back for more.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Knife and cutting board

  • Measuring spoons

Notes

  • Cook the ground beef mixture ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Keep the filling separate from the lettuce to maintain crispness when storing.
  • Experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors!
