Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond butter (or peanut butter, or allergy-friendly substitute)
  • 4-6 tablespoons pure maple syrup, honey, or agave
  • 1/4 cup regular or Dutch cocoa powder
  • 4-5 tablespoons milk of choice (to achieve desired consistency)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (for flavor enhancement)

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the almond butter (or your chosen nut butter), pure maple syrup (or honey/agave), cocoa powder, and vanilla extract.
  • Using a whisk or electric mixer, blend the ingredients together until they are fully incorporated and smooth. If the mixture feels too thick, slowly incorporate the milk of choice, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Give your frosting a taste. If you prefer it sweeter, add a little more maple syrup, honey, or agave. If you want a richer chocolate flavor, stir in an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder.
