Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough make your own or store-bought
  • 1 cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or 8 ounces mozzarella slices
  • pepperoni or other meats
  • fresh basil leaves for topping
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • optional assorted toppings bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, etc.

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
  • Step 2: If refrigerated, let the dough sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Roll out on a floured surface to desired thickness.
  • Step 3: Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  • Step 4: Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese or lay down mozzarella slices evenly over the sauce.
  • Step 5: Add pepperoni and any additional toppings you desire.
  • Step 6: Sprinkle salt and pepper over the toppings.
  • Step 7: Transfer the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden.
  • Step 8: Let the pizza cool for a couple of minutes, then scatter fresh basil leaves over the top.
  • Step 9: Use a pizza cutter to slice and serve hot.
