Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips for coating
  • 1 cup peanut butter creamy
  • 1 cup unsalted butter for nougat layer
  • 1 cup granulated sugar for nougat and caramel layers
  • 1 cup evaporated milk adds creaminess to nougat
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff for light texture in nougat
  • 1 cup salted peanuts roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract enhances flavors
  • 1 14-ounce bag caramels provides gooey goodness
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream to make caramel extra rich

Instructions

  • Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides.
  • Melt the unsalted butter and granulated sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth. Add evaporated milk and bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
  • Fold in the chopped salted peanuts into the nougat mixture. Pour into the prepared baking pan, spreading evenly. Allow to cool completely at room temperature.
  • Melt the caramels with heavy whipping cream until smooth in a double boiler or microwave. Pour over the cooled nougat layer and spread evenly.
  • Chill the baking pan in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the caramel is set.
  • Melt the milk chocolate chips (and optional peanut butter) in a double boiler or microwave. Pour over the chilled caramel layer and spread evenly.
  • Return to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes to set the chocolate completely.
  • Lift the bars out using the parchment overhang and cut into squares or rectangles. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
