Ingredients

  • 2 cups sliced pickled jalapenos
  • 1 cup dill pickle chips
  • 1 tablespoon tequila
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients. Slice the pickled jalapenos if they aren’t pre-sliced, and chop the dill pickles, onion, and fresh dill. Mince the garlic clove and measure out the tequila, black pepper, and Tabasco sauce.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced pickled jalapenos, dill pickle chips, minced garlic, chopped onion, chopped fresh dill, black pepper, and Tabasco sauce. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
  • Pour in the tablespoon of tequila and give the mixture another good stir. The tequila will add a unique flavor profile that complements the heat of the jalapenos and the tang of the pickles.
  • Taste your jalapeno relish. If you prefer more heat, feel free to add a splash more of Tabasco sauce. If you find it too spicy, add in more dill pickle chips to balance the heat.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the relish to a jar and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. This resting time allows the flavors to meld beautifully.

Equipment

  • Cutting Board
  • Sharp knife
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Jar or container

Notes

  • Freeze jalapeno relish for up to three months in an airtight container, leaving space for expansion.
  • For an extra kick, add lime juice or more Tabasco sauce.
  • Let the relish chill for better flavor development before serving.
