  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast

For the Syrup:

  • 1 cup sugar for syrup
  • 1 cup water for syrup

Instructions

Directions:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  • Cover the bowl and let it sit in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.

  • Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Drop a small piece of dough into the oil to check readiness.
