Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed, about 1 to 2 oranges)
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  • Begin by squeezing the juice from your oranges. You want about 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice. This will be the star of your dressing, so make sure it’s fresh!
  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the freshly squeezed orange juice, poppy seeds, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and pepper.
  • Using your whisk, blend all the ingredients until they are well combined. The Dijon mustard and honey will help emulsify the dressing.
  • Slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil while continuing to whisk. This will create a smooth and creamy dressing with a beautiful consistency.
  • Taste your dressing and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You might want to add a little more honey for sweetness or a pinch more salt.
  • You can serve the dressing immediately or store it in the refrigerator for later. If you're storing it, just give it a good shake before using, as the ingredients may separate over time.

Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Juicer

Notes

  • For an extra kick, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.
  • This dressing can last in the fridge for about 5 to 7 days.
  • Feel free to double the recipe for gatherings; it's easy to scale up!
