Ingredients

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls 12-count, sliced in half
  • 1 cup pizza or marinara sauce
  • 2.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 1 package mini pepperoni 5-ounce
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted (1 stick)
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley optional for garnishing

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your baking dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • Carefully slice the package of Hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected.
  • Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish. Spread half of the pizza sauce evenly over the rolls.
  • Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then layer the mini pepperoni across the cheese.
  • Spread the remaining pizza sauce over the pepperoni and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, dried minced onion, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Generously spread the butter mixture over the top of the rolls.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and tops are golden brown.
  • Let the sliders cool for a few minutes, then garnish with parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Slice and serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side.
