Ingredients

  • 12-16 slices pepperoni thinly sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Mozzarella pearls
  • Long toothpicks or small wooden skewers

Instructions

  • Start by taking the thin slices of pepperoni. You’ll want to arrange them in a way that allows you to create the rose shape.
  • Take one slice of pepperoni and gently fold it in half. Then, place additional slices around the first slice, slightly overlapping each piece to create a layered effect.
  • Once you have your rose shape formed, carefully slide a toothpick or small skewer through the center to hold it together.
  • Next, take a fresh basil leaf and place it next to your pepperoni rose on the skewer. Follow this with a mozzarella pearl. You can alternate between the rose, basil, and mozzarella as desired.
  • Repeat the process until you have made all your skewers. Arrange them on a serving platter and get ready to wow your guests!

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, consider lightly toasting the pepperoni slices in a skillet to enhance their richness.
  • Make sure to use fresh basil leaves for the best flavor and vibrant color.
  • These skewers can be made a few hours in advance. Just keep them refrigerated until you’re ready to serve.
