Ingredients

For the Poppy Chow:

  • 9 cups plain popcorn (air-popped)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Cooking Instructions:

  • Step 1: Pop the Popcorn - Begin by popping your popcorn. You can use an air popper or make it on the stovetop. Once popped, place the popcorn in a large mixing bowl, ensuring there are no unpopped kernels.
  • Step 2: Melt the Chocolate and Peanut Butter - In a double boiler or a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter, and unsalted butter. Heat gently until melted and smooth, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  • Step 3: Add Vanilla Extract - Once the chocolate and peanut butter mixture is melted and well combined, remove it from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Step 4: Coat the Popcorn - Pour the warm chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the popped popcorn. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the mixture into the popcorn until all the kernels are evenly coated.
  • Step 5: Add the Powdered Sugar - Sprinkle the powdered sugar over the coated popcorn. Gently toss the popcorn again until the sugar is fully incorporated.
  • Step 6: Set and Cool - Spread the coated popcorn onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow it to cool completely.
  • Step 7: Break Apart and Serve - Once cooled, break apart any clumps and transfer the Poppy Chow to a serving bowl. Now it’s ready to enjoy!
