Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream cold for optimal whipping
  • 1/2 cup milk whole milk or any milk of your choice
  • 1/4 cup brewed espresso cold for robust flavor
  • 1/4 cup confectioners sugar or a sugar substitute of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla or chocolate protein powder choose your favorite flavor
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate melted and cooled, or sugar-free chocolate

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients and ensure the heavy cream is cold.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and cold brewed espresso until combined.
  • Add the confectioners sugar and protein powder to the milk and espresso mixture and stir until smooth.
  • Gently fold the cream into the milk and espresso mixture in three additions using a spatula.
  • Fold in the cooled melted dark chocolate until well combined.
  • Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  • Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
