Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha, optional
  • 1 pound salmon filet, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon oil (extra-virgin olive oil, canola oil, or avocado oil)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the toasted sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and Sriracha (if using).
  • Using a sharp knife, cut the salmon filet into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 1.5 inches in size.
  • Add the salmon pieces to the bowl with the marinade. Gently toss to coat the salmon evenly. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to an hour if you have the time.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Add this mixture to the remaining marinade in the mixing bowl.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the cooking oil. Once hot, carefully place the marinated salmon bites in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once the salmon is cooked, pour the reserved marinade over the bites in the skillet. Allow it to bubble and thicken for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Transfer the salmon bites to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the skillet over the top.
