Start by measuring out 2 cups of plain almonds. If you prefer a different type of nut, feel free to experiment, but almonds are perfect for this recipe.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, Mexican chipotle chili powder, ground red pepper, and dry ranch mix. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Add the almonds to the bowl with the spice mixture. Stir well until the almonds are thoroughly coated with the oil and spices.
Transfer the coated almonds into your slow cooker. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 2 to 3 hours. Stir the almonds every 30 minutes to ensure they cook evenly and absorb all the delicious flavors.
Once the cooking time is up, turn off the slow cooker and let the almonds cool completely. Once cooled, transfer them to an airtight storage container.
