Instructions

Instructions

  • Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients. Start by collecting all of your ingredients. This will make the process smoother and more enjoyable.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Chickpeas. In your food processor, add the drained and rinsed chickpeas. This forms the base of your hummus, providing creaminess and protein.
  • Step 3: Add Garlic and Sun-Dried Tomatoes. Next, toss in the crushed garlic cloves along with the sun-dried tomatoes (including a couple of tablespoons of the oil from the jar). This will infuse your hummus with vibrant flavors.
  • Step 4: Incorporate Tahini and Lemon Juice. Add the tahini paste and fresh lemon juice to the mixture. The tahini gives it that classic hummus texture, while the lemon juice brightens up the flavor profile.
  • Step 5: Mix in Tomato Paste and Seasonings. Add the tomato paste, sea salt, and smoked paprika. These ingredients will deepen the flavor, creating a beautifully balanced dip.
  • Step 6: Blend Until Smooth. Secure the lid on your food processor and blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula to ensure everything is well incorporated.
  • Step 7: Drizzle in Sesame Oil. With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the sesame oil. This will give your hummus a luxurious texture and a nutty flavor.
  • Step 8: Taste and Adjust Seasonings. Before serving, taste your hummus. Adjust the salt and lemon juice as needed to suit your palate.
