Ingredients

  • 1 cup Tahini well-stirred
  • 2 cloves Garlic finely minced
  • 2 lemons Juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1/3 cup Water to achieve desired consistency
  • Sea salt to taste

Instructions

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your tahini is well-stirred, as it can separate in the jar. Squeeze the juice from the lemons and finely mince the garlic.
  • In your mixing bowl, add the tahini and the minced garlic. Use a whisk or fork to mix them together until they are well combined.
  • Pour in the lemon juice and add the ground cumin. Continue to mix until the mixture is smooth and creamy. The tahini will thicken when you add the lemon juice.
  • Add the water gradually while whisking until you reach your desired consistency. You may need more or less water depending on how thick you like your tahini sauce.
  • Add sea salt to taste, starting with a small pinch and adjusting according to your preference. Mix well to incorporate the salt into the sauce.
  • Give your tahini sauce a taste. If you want more acidity, add a bit more lemon juice; if you prefer a deeper flavor, consider adding more cumin or garlic.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Garlic press (optional)
  • Storage container

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Stir well before using leftovers, as separation may occur.
  • If the sauce thickens, thin it with a little water or lemon juice.
